Checking Physician’s Credentials
Information on your physician credentials can be obtained from the doctor’s office, local hospital, a local medical society, or even the HM0 if the doctor is a member. The AMA or the American Medical Association's Physician Select provides a lot of information on the certification status of over more than 700,000 physicians that are currently licensed in the United States. State boards can also issue information about criminal convictions and malpractice suits. It is important that any physician you are getting your advice from is trained and well qualified.
